I love my husband because...
Henry helps me on a daily basis. Anything I ask is not too big of a job. I can always count on him. This is just one of the reasons why I love him. For all the things I ask him to do I am so grateful and indebted to him forever. Good thing our vows said "to death do us part." I love you Honey!

Molasses-Grillled Chops
Adapted from Southern Living at HOME: Best of Books Spring 2008
Prep:8min Cook: 10min
4 boneless porkchops
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup molasses
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup mayo
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoon of dijon mustard
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1. Place pork chops in large freezer bag. Combine soy sauce, molasses, and garlic powder.
stir well and pour over chops. Seal bag and coat chops. Marinate for 4 to 8 hours.
2. Remove pork chops from marinade and grill over medium heat until juices
run clear. 6 to 8 minutes turing once Let rest 5 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, combine mayo, milk, onion, dijon mustard and pepper in saucepan. Cook over low
heat constantly stirring, until heated through. Spoon over chops.

So I kept seeing all these cute signs that people are using to tell their families why they love them. They put them up in their home and every new message is another daily surprise. HOW SWEET?!After using so many chalkboards at our wedding, I decided to use one as our "I love you because" board. I hung it in our kitchen and used it to surprise Henry with some cute messages.

Our Honeymoon in the Mountains
For our honeymoon we decided to do something simple and relaxing. No cruise, no tropics, just the two of us. We rented a cabin on Brother's Cove that was literally hanging off the mountain. There were 2 fireplaces, 2 TVs, a pool table and a hot tub! It was AWESOME! Highly Recommended!
We spent our time havin lunches, dinners, and ice cream. We even took in the Lumberjack Fued Show. On our way home, Henry wanted to visit the Bush's Bake Bean Factory that we passed on our trip two years ago and on our trip up that Sunday. We shopped, ate, and visited their museum. It may have been our most interesting stop of the trip. When we arrived home, Mama had decorated the yard Welcoming Mr. & Mrs. Martin Home and had a sign up from her and Daddy saying that they LOVED THEIR SON-IN-LAW! It was the cutest thing. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation and were ready to start the rest of our lives together.

Not everyone has their own personal photographer to document the happenings in their life. Alisha is not only my go to photographer but she is my friend. 
We have been taking pictures of each other and with each other for many years. I can truly say that I would not have trusted anyone else with this special time in my life. My {PINTEREST} Obsession/ Wedding Venue
My name is Hope {Hughes} and I am a frequent "Pinner". If you follow me on PINTEREST, you are completely aware of how addicting this site can get. Thank goodness for it though because it is where all of my ideas have come to life. If I haven't seen it first on there, I have searched for what I see in my mind. I have found the perfect ideas to make our wedding "rustic", as I and PINTEREST are calling it.
Speaking of our wedding...
{Our Venue}
We are getting married at Hidden Acres in Marion, SC on 03.30.13. This is the Pavilion area where guests will eat, relax, and dance along with Kyle Gore, of Carolina Entertainment.
{The Ceremony}
Our ceremony will take place over at the pond area in front of a "will be made" cross. Guests will walk through a makeshift entry made of doors and be seated on stained benches.
The courtyard area will also be a place for guests to have fun and enjoy some games.

Starting the journey...
As we begin our journey down the aisle... I thought I would document the happenings around us.
It's true what they say about God always having a plan for us. He always has his plan in motion even when we make decisions for ourselves that do not follow his plan. I believe that Henry has always been a part of God's plan for me. Having known each other since high school, God kept putting Henry within an arm's length, even when I don't remember him being there. (haha) God had a plan and 8 years later, he put Henry at my school.
Walking down the hallway, I remember looking at each other and saying "Do you know who I am?" Once that was out of the way we started locking eyes as I dropped my students off for PE (early) and picking them up (early). After losing a bet, on what I don't remember, I owed Henry breakfast. This started a morning ritual, which usually meant Henry bringing me breakfast. Our work family began to notice and many started our relationship in their own minds before we even went out on our first date. My kids started noticing too. They even told a substutitute that Mr. Martin would give her money for a drink or bring her breakfast, like he does for Ms. Hughes. They notice EVERYTHING! After finding a honeybun in my breakfast bag on Valentine's Day, I knew at least one of us was hooked. (haha honeybun=love, obviously!) Once we started "dating" I think we both knew this was it and fast forward to 2 years later (March) here we are.

Henry proposed April of this year. We went out to eat for my birthday and he informed me that I would have to search the house for my present. I began to think, obviously he didn't get me the ceiling fan I thought I was getting. (haha, How would he hide a ceiling fan box?) Once I was given a couple clues, I knew I was looking for something small and then I found the jewelry box. I came around the corner saying, "shouldn't you be on one knee and are you going to ask me something." The poor fella was sore from umpiring his first recreation game of the season, but he got down on one knee and asked if I would "wear that ring for the rest of our lives." I said YES and helped him back up. (haha)
Now we are planning our "rustic" country wedding for 03.30.13 and we're excited to start the rest of our lives.

Ashley and Mike's Wedding
Henry has known Mike since his college days at UNC Pembroke, where they were fraternity brothers. Ashley also went to UNCP. I got to meet Ashley and Mike on Henry and I's first date.
Henry and I went on our first date to Arby's for a quick bite before we went to see Alice in Wonderland with Himmie (Mike), Ashley, Lee (another fraternity brother), and Michelle (Ashley's Friend). My first impression was that they liked to have fun and joke constantly which made me completely comfortable and compatible. From our first date to now we have kept up the occasional trip to Lumberton for date night. They never disappoint with fun and hilariousness. This weekend
was no different.
We wish them love, laughter, and a happily ever after! (and as Michelle said in her toast BABIES, lots of BABIES! hahaha) Congrats!
